PreparationThank you for making your appointment with Sweet Leaf Wellness. We want to make this a comfortable experience for first timers as well as experienced clients. Here are a few recommendations to help you benefit the most from your session.
Liquids: We recommend that you begin your day with freshly pressed vegetable juice from a juice bar. Do not buy store bought or pre-bottled, as they are pasteurized and void of essential nutrition and enzymes. Water is highly recommended through out the day as well as herbal, decaf tea. Hydration will be helpful in the elimination process.
Breakfast: Start with a fresh vegetable juice or fresh fruit juice on an empty stomach, or a fresh fruit salad. You may also enjoy a fresh fruit smoothie without dairy, made with fresh squeezed fruit juice. Stay away from eggs, meat, pancakes, muffins, donuts and coffee.
Lunch: Begin with a raw vegetable salad before all meals. If possible, try and keep it vegetarian. There are many choices and variations for leafy green salads with fresh lemon juice and olive oil as a dressing. Please no croutons, bacon bits, cheese, nuts, dried fruit or ranch dressing. Cooked grains, squashes, yams, and grilled vegetables are healthy options to follow.
Dinner: Start with a raw, leafy green salad, and then follow up with a protein, staying away from starches. Do not indulge too much if your colonic appointment is the next morning.
Please refrain from eating 3 hours prior to your appointment.
Method:
We use the Gravity Method colonics, which is a more interactive method, allowing the therapist to work in tandem with the client’s body. Filtered warm water flows from a five-gallon water tank, that is placed high up, and the water is allowed to flow into the large intestine and gently flush the residue and waste from the colon.
The therapist applies a gentle soothing massage on the abdomen, while pulsating the rubber tubing to encourage movement and working with your body’s rhythm for maximum release.
Tools:
We use metal speculums that are designed for the Gravity Method colonics. There are two valves: one to allow the flow of water to enter the body, and another for the release. A rubber tube is attached to the speculum to slow the waste out.
*Cleaning: The speculums undergo a 3-step cleaning process:
1) The speculums are scrubbed and rinsed with hot water and soap.
2) They are placed in a bath of food grade Hydrogen Peroxide
to soak.
3) They are then transferred into a medical autoclave oven for heat sterilization at 350 degrees.
We hope this information is helpful to your preparation for your appointment. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions you may have. We look forward to guiding you down a path of holistic healing and wellness.
